I work as an "Envisioneer" for a major aerospace firm, using my drawing skills in real time to pull concepts, ideas, strategy, vision/mission and process information out of the technical and engineering community. I draw by hand (pencil, pen and ink) and via computer (Canvas GFX - MS Office software).
My specialty is Large Format Knowledge Maps, or "multivariate data displays" that show more than the 3 or 4 dimensions of reality we live in. This is key to understanding large scale systems and their integration as one needs to build large aircraft.
I use a LOT of cartoon art to do this, since below (and out of sight beneath the "boxes and arrows" (or the "logic and reason") lies a layer of human emotion and other silliness that causes all the trouble. Kidding these folks into seeing those uncomfortable realities can be pretty cool at times.
Otherwise, I'm in my 60's, married, have a grown son, house, cat/cars... (normal stuff). I play-at guitar, help my wife do a lot of gardening, live in Washington State USA just north of Seattle.
